So Many Questions.

Let me guess, you are stuck. You have so many ideas, inspirations, pinterest pins, instagram saves, etc. But how do you choose your color(s)? What paint colors will be popular in 2023? Should I choose trendy or neutral? Should I choose for the entire house at once? Do the paint colors have to coordinate? Is it good to paint the whole house the same color? Is it better to paint the house darker or lighter? Is there an app for choosing paint colors? Like I said SO MANY QUESTIONS.

K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. The first question - what do you like? Are you just focused on one room right now? Then focus on that. In the realm of home renovations, painting truly is one of the cheaper options.

Color Adds Character.

When choosing paint colors for your house, consider the overall style of your home, the architectural features, and the surrounding landscape. Take into account the natural lighting and the mood you want to create. Look for inspiration in magazines, online, and in your neighborhood. Test paint samples on your walls to see how they look in different lighting throughout the day. Remember that lighter colors can make a space feel larger and brighter, while darker colors can create a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

This Dark Green Primary Bedroom is moody and calming. But this dark, bold color is not for everyone. Experimenting with paint colors can be scary, but also it can truly give you that WOW moment. If you do not plan to change our your furniture, then have that in mind. I like to buy paint samples and paint near a window, the floor and my furniture. Then, wait. Look at the paint sample at different times during the day.
There is no rush to choose. If you have to change after sampling. At least you know before you bought all of that paint and wasted all of that time.

The blue walls are a middle ground. Its moody and sublte. The statement is the furniture. Think about that for your situation. What is the show piece of the room? Do you want the focus to be on the furniture or the wall color? There is no wrong answer, fyi.

What about Accent Walls? Is that still a thing? It is if you make it a thing. This is Grizzle Gray by Sherwin Williams. I love this color! It almost appears neutral doesn’t it?

Lastly, what about white? Sometimes you want a blank canvas. Let your furniture and decor shine with all white walls, ceiling and trim paint. This can be hard to visualize while the room is empty, but I promise it can be worth it!

What do you think? Do you like neutral or bold? Do you like to go room-to-room or to coordinate the entire house? I would love to hear from you.
